Here is an absolute excellent video that discusses Twitter and the impact it’s having across the Internet. Twitter is far more than a “poor man’s email” like some people at Google have called it.

Twitter is now not only an up to the second search engine, which makes Google look downright pokey, but is indeed now, thanks to millions of tweets by millions of users, providing a sort of real-time coverage on many aspects of our world.

The best and most lasting quote from the video is probably “Twitter currently controls the most contemporary thought stream humanity has ever seen.” Are we looking at a world soon dominated by just Google, Facebook, and Twitter?

After watching this video, if you haven’t already made a Twitter account for each and every one of your web sites, what are you waiting for!? At the very least, create an account, throw up an icon picture, link your URL to the account and go follow about 100 people with names that are like your subject matter. Then all you need to do is set up a tool like twitterfeed to push all your new blog posts directly onto Twitter! Completely free and easy traffic.
